Scotland❤️🇬🇧
Our favorite part of Scotland was its rich history. Between visiting Edinburgh Castle, St.Andrews, and the various other landmarks and places of hospitality, what stuck out most out to us was the history of the country. Additionally, the pride along with the history of Scotland. It almost seems like a different world than America. We think of "rare historical" landmarks as places built maybe in the late 19th century or early 20th century. Those landmarks are also few and far between. In Scotland, every building has a story hundreds and hundreds of years old. We were amazed! We are hoping London can live up to the standard Edinburgh has set!

I couldn't agree with you and your group more :) What your group reflected on sounded very similar to what our group talked about on the bus ride home yesterday. That should tell Scotland something - their rich history is leaving a lasting impression on us! I thought that I was "proud" of being an American, but after visiting Scotland and its people, I don't even think I know what "proud" means!
ReplyDeletePride and respect...rich history and tradition...they seem to go hand in hand, don't they? Love that you noticed how different it feels here, and how that cultural difference translates in the educational world.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to be in a place with such a rich history and clear culture which unites the people. It's such a stark contrast to the US where we have so many cultures and such a young history. It's a pleasure to drink in its heritage. I can't wait to start our journey in London.
ReplyDeleteIt's such an amazing thing to experience a culture where people understand their history, and are proud to know who they are and where they've been. I'm thrilled to hear and see all the amazing history and culture you're all taking in!
ReplyDeleteAli,
ReplyDeleteI wish people in the US understood their history and were proud of what they have. In the US we have so much to be proud of and it's sad that Americans focus on the negatives more often than the positives.
I knew that London would have great historical sights and stories but I was surprised by how much I learned about Scotland. Scotland had such beautiful landscape mixed with so much history around every corner.
